Chocolate & Cashew Bliss Balls

Bliss Balls

These days procrastination is my new best friend, and I’ve become obsessed with looking for recipes! Of course I hope to actually use them… someday… but they just end up being added to my never-ending Bookmarks list. Sometimes I scroll through them admiringly and think, “I might cook that tonight!” but then I see the sourdough loaf and avocado in the kitchen and suddenly there’s avocado toast on my dinner plate because that’s just the best thing in this world. And I’m lazy.

So here’s a really good, easy and quick recipe for all you lazy cooks out there. You never know what potential we might have!

I found these amazing chocolate truffle-type things on Green Kitchen Stories. Bliss balls are the yummiest and the most healthy chocolate snack I’ve ever had. As a self-confessed chocaholic this is one step towards recovery, and I highly recommend you try these!

Instead of using almonds I used cashews. There are so many combinations that you can just add whatever you like. My friend uses sour cherries with hazelnuts.

Chocolate & Cashew Bliss Balls

Adapted from Green Kitchen Stories

Makes around 15

10 large medjool dates, pitted
1 cup desiccated coconut
1/3 cup cashews or nuts of choice
2 tbsp coconut oil, room temperature
4 tbsp raw cacao powder
1 tbsp water
1 tsp ground cinnamon

Combine all the ingredients in a food processor and roll into balls.

(I don’t have a food processor so I roughly chopped up my cashews and dates before adding the rest of the ingredients)

If you like, roll the balls in nuts, cacao powder or desiccated coconut.

Store in the fridge.
